The Matchmaker
New York City artist Willie Torbert produces highly stylized compositions that celebrate tradition and community with color and flare. His work often deals with his experiences as a Black American and the importance of music in culture. In 1993 Torbert founded the prestigious Zakiya Art Gallery.
