Rod Carew was a former first and second baseman for the Minnesota Twins and the California Angels. During his time there Carew became the greatest contact hitter in Twins history and racked up achievements such as being named the 1977 AL MVP and setting a Twins record with a .388 batting average. Before retiring and his eventual induction into the hall of fame he also appeared in 18 straight All-Star games.
